WHAT ORBIS DOES
Orbis changes the way the world sees by preventing and treating avoidable blindness and visual impairment. The charity trains and mentors local eye care teams, educates communities, and partners with hospitals, Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and governments to save sight and transform lives around the world.
HOW ORBIS DOES IT
We provide specialist training and equipment for doctors, nurses and eye care teams through our long-term programmes, on board the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital with our world class medical volunteers, and via our award-winning online training platform, Cybersight. We educate and inspire local communities about the importance of eye health, with initiatives including film screenings and radio broadcasts. We also screen for and treat eye conditions in those communities. Partnering with local hospitals, Non-Government Organisations (NOs) and governments, we strengthen and improve eye health services. Our comprehensive approach to tackling avoidable blindness saves sight and transforms lives around the world.
